Betsy Stern Kids' Music: In addition to handing me such a large repertoire of standards, my dad also passed onto me his love of playing music for kids. He composed a lot of children's songs, many of which he sold to Disney. He also wrote children's musicals. He taught me that kids really love rhythm. I bring to the music the strong and wonderful rhythms of Jazz, Blues, and other forms of music from around the world.
Betsy and the Frenchman: This is the link to the site for Betsy & the Frenchman, my new Blues and Roots duo with dobroist Pierre Bastide. Pierre lives in Paris and I in California, and we go back and forth. Next stop: Kansas in September!
